Frida Kahlo was a globally renowned Mexican painter, and during her journeys throughout Mexico, she redefined herself and rediscovered her own identity.

Reinventing oneself through travel? Mexico City is one of the most significant cities in the world due to its culture, history, and tourism. If you are a visitor or new to the city, it is crucial to acquaint yourself with the transportation options as Mexico City is vast and offers numerous swift, secure, and cost-effective means of getting around. One of these options is using your own car, but you may encounter substantial challenges.

The metro system in Mexico city was inaugurated over 50 years ago and is the most widely used system by both tourists and Mexicans. It comprises 12 routes covering the city and offers economical fares, with the current ticket price set at $5. The system's iconography greatly facilitates navigation for foreigners. It is advisable to avoid peak hours.

The metrobús and trolleybus are bus route systems with exclusive lanes, known for their accessibility and low fares. An integrated mobility card is also utilized. While buses and other public transportation services can be useful for reaching more distant areas, the use of minibuses or shared vans (combis) is not recommended due to safety concerns. Private transportation apps like Uber and DiDi are popular and convenient options for city travel, with fares varying based on distance. Using bicycles is an effective way to explore the city, thanks to bike lanes on major avenues and rental options available through apps or at locations offering bike loans.
