Over the last decade, Mexico has grown as the most popular country for foreigners looking for a new home.

Everyone has a different experience living abroad, but according to a survey conducted by InterNations, Mexico is the number one out of 53 destinations for expats who agree that it has lovely benefits.

The country was highly rated by more than 10,000 expats from 171 nationalities benefits such as an affordable cost of living, career growth opportunities, housing, and social life.

The survey also ranked Mexico as the friendliest country in the world for the second time in a row, meaning foreigners are happy with their social lives and have found getting to know people is easier compared to other places.

Of course, no country is perfect. While Mexico has many of its own problems regarding social and security issues, and locals may struggle with the idea of more foreigners moving in, the survey still shows expats feel welcomed by them.

Many foreigners find it easy to settle in and agree that accommodations are affordable and provide a very comfortable lifestyle. Mexico’s relaxed migratory policies for temporary or permanent permits are appealing to someone who is planning on starting a new adventure.

Besides Mexico, other countries that ranked in the first ten favorites were Spain, Panama, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Costa Rica, the Philippines, Bahrain, and Portugal.

Based on projections from the United Nations data, the current population of Mexico is 129, 793, 749, with an annual population growth rate of about 1.06%.
